cake and cooking experts, please help!

i’m making a birthday cake for my boyfriend, and it needs to be ready by tomorrow. it’s a buttery yellow cake with chocolate icing and i already have all the directions/ingredients.

however, i don’t want to cook the batter in two separate pans and put them together; that’s too difficult and messy for me. so i wanted to try using a bundt cake pan.

would that be alright for the yellow cake?
will the pan/the way it’s cooked dry it out?
what’s the best time for me to start cooking today, so it won’t be bad tomorrow?

if you could answer those questions, and anything i’ve missed, you’ll be a life saver!!

thank you!

Use two separate pans. Why is that a problem?

well, only because it’s a little more difficult for me, and i’m worried it’ll come out all funky.

would it be better?

Yes. If you cook it in a bundt pan it won’t cook evenly. It’s no more difficult to use two pans, that’s very standard when making cakes.
