but when i think about it i feel sick.. i really dont want to waste all my money just to hang out with people who i know will ignore me on the night…sigh they always do.i just dont know what to tell them i mean i dont want them to hate me over not going.i have to live with them next year

your not very understanding i mean i get upset when i think about it and it would be so embarasing with my mum and dad nd everything i hate dresses im kind of tom boyish the last time i wore a dress was for my communion.

like i wont regret it i do feel bad about my friends and all but still are they really friends if they make me do something i hate just so they will have fun thats pretty selfish. you dont know them one wants to be popular so she will just leave me and suck up to the popular girls and the others will get drunk and hang out with them too and call me loser and tell me i am weird and the others will throw themselves at men…..hmmmm sounds fun eh?i know this cause they have done it before

their not such great friends…well i guess no one here has an irrational fear of the debs like me. im going to make up an excuse now

You shouldn’t be doing something for other people. You make the decision that feels right for you. If you want to go go if you don’t don’t!! Just think about it well before deciding what you are going to do. Is it something you will regret when you see all the excitement involved on the day with your friends getting dressed up and going out for the night?

Speaking from personal experience I never went to my debs even though the pressure was there and I don’t regret it one bit. Never much liked school and was glad when it was over. Now when I went to college and Uni that’s when the fun began :)

All I can emphasise is don’t let others pressure you to do something you don’t want to do. It’s your life. You don’t have to spend it doing something that makes others happy but you miserable!
