Does anybody else here feel like they’re carrying the world’s sins on their shoulders?

Where were you?

Sometimes. But some people choose to do that. They want to be martyrs.
Sure it does. There were many martyrs that suffered death because they couldn’t be forced to recant their beliefs.
Unfortunately, I am unable to empathize with you since I do not follow any particular religion, especially, one that overemphasizes the idea of sin by laying the guilt trip on all and sundry. That is no kind of way for any person to live. People deserve to live a better life without being verbally slapped in the face every Sunday morning by the preacher.
People make themselves out to be martyrs by taking other people’s sins and burdens on their shoulders because of guilt or past “sins” that they attribute to themselves and to make acts of contrition hoping there’s still salvation and redemption for them if they do that.
Some people, though, do it just for show. They want to put on a show for other people to see because they want other people to say “how saintly” they act or that they are good people when in reality they are neither and have ulterior motives for doing that.

You just assumed I’m a christian, haven’t you.I didn’t refer to sins in the religious definitive way.
I look at people and I see the way they live and it angers me. So much that I feel like I have to live my life differently as to cover up for their misdoings. That sounds arrogant, doesn’t it…
I did slightly assume, yes. Only because it would seem very likely for a person not to be consumed by the burden of sin if they were not Christian. So I apologize for the prejudgement.

Which group would you put Jesus in, had you been religious?
Do you think he died for our sins thereby making him a martyr?
no..not really..just my own. It seems easier to forgive flaws in others.
compassion is good but not to the point where you become incapable of helping
others.
People who are truely compassionate are very valuable and much needed
in the world today.
Please let me assure you that the world will soon become a better place….. beyond our wildest dreams.
We are receiving help from sources which we have never had access to before.
With our help and a better understanding of the need to share the world’s resources, the world will be fixed of its problems.
I know this to be true.
I don’t understand what compels you to live your life to think that other people’s wrongdoings are to your expense. Let them be responsible for their own mistakes, and you can be responsible for yours. That is all that matters and by doing this, you will be not feel the way that you currently do.

Wow! That is so very optimistic! I have never actually heard someone with such a positive view on things!

thank you.
the way that Jesus bought humanity a small amount of redemption
was he asked the father “Forgive them for they no not what they are doing”
But it was limited in action to around that time.

Spiratec… You remind me of someone who had similar views. In a game. I always looked up to him. And because of that, I used to try and bash him for it, just to make sure his belief was flawless.
It felt great, believing in him as a kid. I also tried to imitate him. But no matter what, I just can’t seem to be able to stop hating my own kin… Just as I hate myself. My being a human.
I too believe this world will become a better place… But not before those with a conscious leave.
I’m truly sorry.
I am not optimistc just because I am a happy person or something like that.
I am optimistic simply because there is no other way.
The “other choice” leads to nuclear war and the end of all life on this planet.
So we must be optimistc.Share the resources of the world.
The same group of animals will love one another. Love is an innate emotion. You were born to love just as you were born to hate, fear, and experience joy. It’s very good to know that you are a very loving person, but loving people as to where you feel like every mistake they make is stacked on top of your conscience is not healthy. And if they knew about your love for them and how it has changed your life into a nightmare filled with their blunders, then I’m sure they would feel very feel very bad inside and hope that you devote your love elsewhere.
But you are not another sublime messiah who can save people from their sins. I’m not sure if you want this to be associated with God or not, but I can no longer see the subject being avoided. What benefit do you hope to give people by bearing all of their sins? Surely, you don’t expect to become canonized after you die? The idea you have of absorbing the sins of mankind will be something only you will acknowledge and retain, and nobody else. Unless of course, you wish to mention that God is relevant to your life and that you are doing this for him. Otherwise, you claim to be a martyr is fundamentally unfounded in my eyes.
So what exactly is your profound motive for doing this? People who are depressed can easily seek the advice of a psychologist to find the source of depression. Most people suffering depression even know why they are suffering. But since it tends to overrun them and their ability to live life normally, they cannot justify the cause, much less determine it. So if you tell me you have no definitive motive, which I’m almost certain you won’t, then I will not reply anymore to this post from here on out.
