Can anyone help me find help?

I’m 20 years old, soon to be 21. I’ve been a cutter since I was 12. I have agoraphobia, severe anxiety, and depression. I want help. I need help. I’m on my parents insurance because I’m a college student, but my parents don’t believe that I have a problem. “It’s all in your head,” they like to say. I can’t afford my own insurance right now, and all of the treatments I found that I wouldn’t need insurance for were for those 18 or younger.

I can’t do this anymore. I’ve had 4 anxiety attacks in the past week. I need help. If anyone has information that they think would be valuable to me, please share. Thank you.

The Robot knows what it’s talking about! - If you think life should end that number works wonders. Trust it, they’re not out to hurt you more, you don’t have to worry about them forcing crap down your throat or involving the police or anything. - We here are not trained, and we don’t know what could push your buttons. They do.

Sorry I couldn’t help more, but like I said, I’m scared to say the wrong thing, and far from professional.

I would recommend going to a doctor, first and foremost, to try and get your anxiety attacks under control. Ask your doctor if it has any referrals for you as far as psychiatric help goes. I’m sure he/she will. I feel your pain, and wish you the best of luck. :-)

Best of luck to you. I would suggest you try and find some peers that could help you make it through this stage of life. Everyone has their ups and downs, and there are lots more people worse off than you. So be positive, and know that things will work out. Confide in a close friend, and trust your heart. We all want to be special, and you are.

I would NOT recommend medication. I would however strongly recommend therapy of some sort. It sounds like you may have suffered some abuse as a child. People who cut usually have. I’m sorry that they are not taking your problems seriously. They are very serious and real problems to have indeed.

something that worked for my depression was going to bed at 8pm and get up a 6am or five, take cold water showers, and eat well. Water is life go to a lake, keep cold everyway you are avoid high temperatures, rest a much as you can during hot afternoons don’t go out from 1pm to 6pm if is hot outside, seat at the floor in any yoga position that you feel conftable, go to YouTube and listen to some relaxation music watc some yoga videos and don’t sofocate yourself about anything just let it go it don’t matter how good or bad is the situation it will chage.

What is preventing you from going to the doctors by yourself?

Because i can’t afford to be on my own health insurance right now, so I’m on my parents. My mother doesn’t want me to see a doctor ( and i don’t want to get further into that), and my dad well, lets just say he goes a little overboard on the drinking, and doesn’t have the time or will to care.
Since I’m still in school I’m covered under my father’s insurance. And you NEED to use your insurance if you have it, and I do. I thought about dropping it and not having insurance at all but there’s bad sides to that. 1- it would be really expensive to see a doctor. 2- if i need medication, that too would be really expensive. 3- I’m very clumsy and tend to wind up at the doctors one way or the other.
