Help.com.

A beast in it’s own right, but what do you think?

I have had a very long absence from help, but I will be on for a while now, I will help, I will get help, I will learn, I will teach, I will laugh, I will cry, and I will promise nothing.

This website is undeniably addictive, to those here, the only others who are as dependent on a website are pornfreaks, and teenage myspacers. In my opinion this is the best addiction of the three, but also the least treatable.

Help.com is as vast as the title implies, from computer knowledge to suicide letters, helpers from around the globe are working to do what they can for people they don’t know, and probably never will.

So for the return post, what do you think help.com is all about, and why?

Help.com has sparked romance, hatred, maybe even a marriage (I’m looking at you HT) but most of all friendship. So my friends, I’m back, errr.. Sort of. For right now at least.

And for those I don’t know yet, well, hello! I’m Rowass, and I’m glad to “help”.

Well when I think about Help.com and what it is that makes it addicting, I think it’s all about the people.

As human beings, we instinctively love to help people. We come here for whatever reason, but we stay because we like to help people. We like to feel like we make a difference in people’s lives. Not to mention, we like having people there for us too. Whenever we need help, or even when we’re just bored, there are plenty of people right here on this website that can help out, even if our real life friends aren’t answering their phones.

What made it change? Well, I think that the change came about once the site became less about helping people and making friends, but instead became a popularity contest. Are you one of the knights? are you one of the people with the “anonymous” avatar? Did you comment on the most popular post yet?
Don’t get me wrong, it was fun, and I was part of it, but it changed the dynamics of the site and down it went. There’s hope now, though. The cliques have dispersed, the trolls have dwindled, and the users who left for whatever reason are slowly reaquainting themselves with the site. The future’s looking up for this place!

I haven’t seen you since I joined this site!

I think Help is a government project set up so that we all solve each other’s problems and they don’t have to do anything.
