so i want to join a branch of the military, but im

not sure wich ones best, part of me wants to join the marines, i figure if im going to serve my country i might as well do it to the max, but im afraid that ill regret wanting to be in combat once im actually in it, they all pay well, i hear the air force is the best as far as education/job training, i just dont know, part of me is hesitant to join, but i feel i have to because my dad did, his dad did, and so on, everyone in my family wants me to do it, my dad keeps saying serve your country thats all i ask, get on the boat…do your job….and come back home again, its hard to say no, not saying i want to its just alot to think about, any advice on any part of this would be helpful, p.s. im not afraid of combat or dieing for my country, i feel that would be the highest honor, i love the quote “my only regret is i have but one life to give for my country”, i know the risks, just wanna knows wich branch is more beneficial, or if none of them are, preferably from someone whos joined themselves

Look man, it depends on what you want. My sister and I are in the marines, 91 Whiskey son! The marines is not easy, it is not necessarily fun but nothing compares. You get job training in all classes, including benefits like the G.I. Bill but, it just so happens that in the Marines we’re actually doing work. In terms of enlistment, you can’t compare a army grunt, seaman or an airman to a marine. We have a reputation because we’re made into the best. BTW here’s a tip, in the marines we say Urrah not that army hooah, don’t confuse them or you’ll be made very unhappy.

Well personally I think it depends on what you want to come out of service with. If you cant stand authority army, marines are for the ones who want to stay a marine the rest of there lives, navy my personal choice is for thrill seekers who dont mind claustophobia and want to get away. Although my uncle said navy stood for Never Again Volunteer Yourself I didnt thnk it was all that bad myself.PS also get some kind of college degree. I would recomened ,personal choice again, A medical degree so you could be a corpsmen nomadder what u choose.

It really depends on what you like. i’m not in the military yet but i chose the U.S Army because i like helping people out whether it’s during war or in natural disasters. The Marines i guess their ok but what i don’t like is that their like really cold like killing machines when it comes to war it’s like they prepare them to have a strong mentality to kill. But i respect them because they train the hardest and get disciplined more. you know what they say The Few The Proud.
