military help: I’d like to enlist in US Air Force. - Help.com

I’d like to enlist in US Air Force.

Hi, I’m an international student who is attending a college. I am currently staying in the States with F-1 visa and I’ve acquired a social security number. I have a few friends who are in the US military including Army, Marine Corps, and Air Force. I’ve been doing some research and I also know most of the restrictions when it comes for immigrants joining the armed forces. I also understand that there are lots and lots of people thinking about the same thing. I am not an idiot, don’t tell me to go to more research without providing reasons or treat me like ‘what’s knew, foreigners trying to get US citizenship.’
I know that temporary immigrants “can’t” enlist in the US military but it seems like the enlistment system is opening up to us as well. I know this might sound like a dumb question but if I have a social security card, will that make any differences, even though I am not a permanent resident of the US?

Any inputs related to my question are welcome.

Thanks

just my input :

i think it’s a bad idea to enlist in the military of any nation - wars need to stop, and it’ll only happen when the people of all nations make it clear to their respective governments that they’re fed up with it. sending clear signals as in no longer enlisting would be a good start.

if they’re opening up to immigrants as well, it only shows they’re getting desperate for new blood. either because too few americans are interested, or too many have been deployed and lost elsewhere. neither is a good sign.

you really want to go follow orders? go fight somewhere and kill people just because someone tells you to? regardless of your own idea and opinion on the matter? ever considered that your/any government might be a bunch of liars, just (ab)using their military forces, with their own hidden agenda in mind?

make sure you know who you join forces with, it might backfire one day.

wars have happened since the start of civilization, yes its a bad thing, but you are a ******** to think that him not enlisting, which probably is a bad choice, but you think that telling a pawn, an enlisted immigrant will change the tide of any war? you are an idiot. hippy. and the only thing backfiring will be the pipe you smoke that hippy lettuce with you shitface
