I’d like to enlist in US Air Force.
Hi, I’m an international student who is attending a college. I am currently staying in the States with F-1 visa and I’ve acquired a social security number. I have a few friends who are in the US military including Army, Marine Corps, and Air Force. I’ve been doing some research and I also know most of the restrictions when it comes for immigrants joining the armed forces. I also understand that there are lots and lots of people thinking about the same thing. I am not an idiot, don’t tell me to go to more research without providing reasons or treat me like ‘what’s knew, foreigners trying to get US citizenship.’
I know that temporary immigrants “can’t” enlist in the US military but it seems like the enlistment system is opening up to us as well. I know this might sound like a dumb question but if I have a social security card, will that make any differences, even though I am not a permanent resident of the US?
Any inputs related to my question are welcome.
Thanks
