I found a scorpion in my house.

I live in Tampa, Florida, so we don’t really see them too often. I’ve lived at this house for about nine years now, and I’ve probably seen less than five scorpions in the house. Most of them were found in the garage, and all of them were found on the first floor. However, the one I found a few moments ago was upstairs (in my sister’s room). I killed it for her, but I am still a little worried. Can scorpions climb the the second story of a house (either inside the house or outside)? Or is it possible that there are more scorpions living in my house somewhere? Thanks in advance!

P.S. The scorpion was a little under an inch in length and was brown in color.

I do believe scorpions can climb stairs so it’s possible that scorpions could have climbed to the second story.

I would recommend looking up some information about scorpions and what scorpion you might have killed. Also check around upstairs in darker corners of the house where there is any major clutter and make sure that there aren’t scorpion nests upstairs.

scorpions can climb anything. they don’t like lavender scent. so some lavender potpourri might do you some good. i live in the desert with the scorpions… they tend to leave you alone if you leave them alone. they are more frightened of you than you are of them. good luck
