Barack Obama’s ratings dropped to 57% today, George W.
Bush’s rating at the same time in his first term were the same. Does this show a trend for the future of the President, or will he recover and up his rating? What does everyone think?

I think we as a society need to redefine where this country is, should be and where we want it to go. Then fire Obama and the other political peoples and bring in real Americans from all different locations, jobs, social, and class backgrounds to create a new government infrastructure.
Remove the partisans
Remove electoral colleges
Etc etc
Obama is nothing special except being the first non-white US president. He is screwing up a lot and fixxing some things.
Well I think Obama is being scrutinized far more than Bush was first term, but unsoshable is right; we need to get rid of our idiotic governing system.
his approval rateing is going down because people are seeing that despite having a congress that will back him, some of his ideas arent as great as america hoped. it was the same with bush. for some reason we think if a president from a party is elected and holds the majority that they will be able to change things for the better. not always the case though, and in a context typical of politicians they think you can solve a problem by throwing money at it. this brings me to an individual rant. Im getting tired of hearing them blame a slugish economy on “buyer confidence” confidence has nothing to do with it. the fact is the buyer is broke. when you have a jobless rate of over 9% what did you expect? the buyer is confident that he has no money.. he is also confident that tomorrow he will have no money. this is what happens when the rich and the poor rely on the middle class guy to carry them both. the rich need him to buy their products and work for them so they can remain rich, the poor for charities, and government welfare. but when the middle man’s pockets are empty the whole ladder suffers. Im not even a studious economist and yet the people at the top cant seem to grasp this simple concept.
yes. I’m all for the apocalypse too, so I agree with what unsoshable said. Let people who know nothing about running a country, yet are just as corrupt, prejudiced, and self centered, as any crooked politician the sheeple will elect seize control and bring on the end of the world baby!
But on a serious note. This is a stupid question. If anyone wants to be taken seriously when talking on the subject of politics, they should maybe start with a few present facts that aren’t based on speculation, partisanship, ego, or what he/she said, try relating them to other likewise facts, and then when all is said and done, make sure both are relevant to change and effects of said issues, including what changes and effects can be predicted and evidence of such things.
You know who had horrible approval ratings? Lincoln. So why not try stirring up nonsense irrelevant to the subject of future outcomes of presidential success/failure?
how bout it eveyone. How bad of a president do we think Lincoln was? His approval rating was crummy, so those people must have been right. Am I right or am I right?

He may not be totally white, but he is half white, half black, raised by white grandparents and a white mother in Hawaii.

Forgive me for not being blunt, he is black.

Only by DNA, you must believe in the one drop rule of race.

I was just pointing out that he is multiracial, not non-white. It is very inconsiderate to consider a person as being of one race when they are part of many races, especially ones that have influenced them the most in there lives.
If that is ignorance then fine. The government is obviously ignorant since they are spending millions trying to figure out the choices for race on the 2010 census, they are even considering a multiracial box..mmmm…I guess this means the Obama Administration is ignorant.
excuse me as i recall…
unsoshable - “…[Obama] is black.”
you - “only by DNA…”
I’m sorry if calling that ignorant makes sense, and you feel you have to lash out in a Obama hating frenzy, but I’ll reiterate. You are ignorant, not only of your own shortcomings, but of the ongoing troubles and controversies in our country involving race, skin color, self identification, bigotry, and stereotyping. If you think that you can effect a positive change in this world with anger and self indulgent ideology, then I pity you.
I don’t know who that last post was intended for, but I was stating that Obama is no different than any other president we have had besides the color of his skin. I am not prejudice in anyway. I feel that the people of this country do not anylonger have a say in how this country is run do to the laws and politics we have in place. That was the message I was trying g to get accross.
well, unless you are the anon poster above, then it wasn’t meant for you, but if you want something to blame for the people not having the power to choose for themselves who runs the country, look no further than the insanely partisan media. Nobody can fight against a power that vast and far reaching.

the media has power because the people listen to them.

I feel you should give people credit for all of their races, not just one part of their heritage. I have taken a race class in college and ignorance is what led to racism in the first place. Anyone from a European origin should be ashamed of the racist attitudes created because of the ignorance of early Europeans towards anyone not like them. It is important to recognize all influences in life.
Ignorance had to be coupled with something to create racism. That something was broad, often stereotyping statements meant to blanket an entire identifiable group. Statements like “Anyone from European origin should be ashamed,” are pretty clear examples. You’re chasing your tail with that one. And I don’t see why the last statement was made at all.
If you would like to consider me part Polish, German, and Italian, then it’s just as bad as considering me a white boy, becuase I am neither of those things. I’m simply me. If you’d like to figure out which part has had a greater “influence” on my life however, I’ll tell you, it isn’t fact that I’m German, Polish, and Italian.
Race is a sensitive issue, and people view it in many different and personal ways that you seem to have ignored. And if those millions spent on finding a proper balance between statistic and sensitivity make the census (which gives a needed voice to the masses) more accessible, then it is money well spent.

You just proved my point, “because I am neither of those things. I’m simply me”. Barack Obama is simply himself. He shouldn’t be considered Black, multiracial, white or anything. It doesn’t matter that he is the first non-white president, Obama is Obama not “the black president” or anything like that.
Thank You!!!
The non-white president comment was kind of racist.
WOW!!! Nice argument from both sides. I agree with Anonymous, you don’t need to consider Obama as black or white, he is just himself. Name with no Face, you need to grow up and realize that not everything is always black and white, there are gray areas and you are wrong. You are the ignorant one.
ummm what? your the only anonymous here. your anonymous picture stays the same each time you post and your the only one who can have it. so we know its the same you each time even if we don’t know who you are.
Actually, I am the anonymous who is called you ignorant. I have no idea who originally posted this.
I know of someone down the street from me that uses the same ISP and wireless router, it may be him. I don’t know
I just logged into another account and posted anonymous, it came up the same Avatar as if I was on my actual account. It goes by IP address, not by user accounts. Try it yourself and see. Don’t accuse me of being someone I am not.
your trying way too hard at this excuse jamess. if you need made up support, create all the alter egos you need. I’m no dummy.
tell the black community that obama isn’t black. all comments like that do is attempt to take pride away from them. it adds nothing positive or constructive to the conversation at all.
