For those who street race…

.

Two days ago a 16 year old boy was killed in a car acciedent while racing his friends. He ran into a tree and wrapped his car around it. The front end of the car was basically in his lap. As his friends tried to help him he died in their arms. The fire department had to use the jaws of life to pull him out through the trunk. So next time you want to race just remember that its not always just fun and games. You can be seriously injured or killed like this young kid did. Learn from his mistake and remember that there are people who love you and would hate to lose you.

Yea I wasn’t exactly sure what to write about it. I’m still a little shocked to hear this news… I didn’t personally know him but I know that he didn’t deserve to die like that. Yes its true that he shouldn’t have been racing but who can honestly say that they have never exceeded the speed limit. It is truly unfrotunate for his family.

the problem wasn’t him driving too fast, it was him being stupid enough to drive too fast in the wrong place, with not enough skill to deal with it. everyone thinks they are an amazing driver but in truth most people aren’t (mostly because very few places actually teach you how to handle cars, most only teach you to drive them, i think finland is the only country that forces you to learn car control as well).

chances are the kid had some trumped up little saxo or clio that he’d lowered the suspension on (ruining the handling) and was showing off by trying to whizz around country lanes, the lesson here is that he was an idiot. he didn’t deserve to die, and i’m not advocating street racing, but with someone like that if it wasn’t wrapping his car into his tree it probably would have been something else.
