Depression !

!!

I was diagnosed 4 years ago with clinical depression (according to doctors my depression has been present since I was very young) and I am still having hard time managing it. Besides medical and talk therapy is there anything else I could do to manage my depression? Maybe some that has experienced this type of problem could give me some new ideas. Thank you upfront for the HELP!!

same here. (ish) get a puppy. cocker spaniels are therapy dogs. i have an american cocker, she’s all black and named kiwi. she’s my little sis, thats how i see her. after my older sister past away it’s like this dog keeps the house from seeming empty. im never alone anymore. or try chocolate. yum yum extra dark with cranberries and almonds…

Find a person you can talk to that will listen to you… it helps.
And a lot of people are willing :)
Just don’t quit if you get someone who doesn’t first off.
Texting?
Chatting?
Any of them.

Make sure you eat healthy, get exercise (a walk everyday is nice) and actually a dog is a good idea because they can be a companion and give you a reason to get out of the house :)
Make sure you surround yourself with people who love you and who you love. Earn your living doing something that you love and enjoy doing, rather than something just to pay the bills.
Try and occupy your spare time with your interests and hobbies.
And remember above all to think positive, even though it’s easier said than done. Positive thinking seems tedious I guess but it really does help.
Depression can’t be cured but you can treat it.

Try do something new everyday! I know that sounds quite silly but it works. Allowing yourself to experience new stimulli can give your brain a jumpstart, which is great for tackling that horrible feeling of nothingness that can accompany depression. Don’t allow yourself to get too rountined. Thats all I can think of atm! Depression is so very difficult to manage and effects different people in different ways; which makes it hard to come up with ideas. Wish you the best of luck, don’t let it beat you!xxx
