I have this idea.
Imagine a world where humans (some or all) can extract their emotions by placing their right hand on their heart and thinking about that particular emotion (and/or the events that caused it) and reason they want to remove it.
The extracted emotions are small flames of various colors (based on the emotion/s) surrounded by a glass-like orb (fits into the palm of the hand, is transparent yet unbreakable).
The process is also reverseable: the person who extracted the emotions can return them to their place by placing the orb on their heart and thinking of the reason/s they want them returned.
Note that although the emotions are extracted, the person still has the memories that bred them; they are simply indifferent to them, and therefore can’t recall them easily.
Now, as for the questions: What would you do with this sort of power?
Is there some interesting scenario (to fit a book, movie or short story) you have in mind?
