Need help with LiveJournal.

I’m wanting to do a particular thing with the comments in live journal. When there’s a reply to a comment I make, and instead of showing up as a comment, I want to to have a link to expand it. How do I do that? I’ve looked all around the blasted settings and can’t find anything that even remotely resembles the option, but I see them everywhere on other journals. Could someone please explain this to me and show me how to set it up?
