What are your thoughts on Global Citizenship?
Would it help it help us in economics, trading, health care, the enviroment, migration and law? Would it be a positive or negative change? Would we get more equal rights and would the responsibility be shared out more evenly? Would countrys and people lose their culture and identity? Or would it all combine to make a bigger and better world? Would it eliminate war? Or cause more problems?

i don’t know, i’m pretty sure a conflict of cultures will exist always unless all cultures merge into one, which wouldn’t be so good either, think about it. Everyone same language, same styles. Would make travelling kinda pointless.
nooooooo it’s badddd america would suck and the economy would be worse cuz then all the cubans and mexicans and candians and asian and ******* everyone cuz america is awesome…they would come in and take all the jobs
It will not eliminate war. In point of fact, such an endeavor will cause more war because there are many who do not want to surrender the sovereignty of the country they live in. I only see bad and death coming from this. Before long it will be forced on many and accepted by all others. Sorry for being such a downer, but that is my point of view.
Depends how it’s done… couldn’t be good for the rich countries or bad for the poor countries. I think it would make the world a much worse place. America was more diverse before the interstate system and it made us all the same. I like diversity.
I think it is exactly what needs to happen. I live in africa, with about 1/8th of the poorest people in the world. When you take thing like 95% of the worlds wealth is owned by about 5% of the worlds population, then a global community would break down some of the barriers in which certain privileged countries reap all the benefits and poorer countries are left on the side lines.
Where what happens in some far away land does not affect most people living in 1st world states. I think that people dieing of curable diseases, starvation and neglect. At the rate at which it is happening is a crime against humanity, especially when the excess of rich nations are taken into account. The world throws away enough food to feed every one on the planet 3 times over.
Wars are fought over the unequal distribution of resources, if people are hungry they will kill to eat. It happens every day here where I live. A global community could bring and end to a number of problems. But I dont think democracy as it currently stand would work to do this. Democracy only works when the people can have a voice that is heard and listened too. In Africa too many people are under educated to make democracy work for them.
I dont know what form of government would really work, because their just too many good people who are doing nothing.
I think we are all “global citizens”. But I think it important to also be “community citizens”.
Hell no.
that would be an extremmmmmmmmmmmmely bad idea. it would not help the economy at all, as most dollars measure themselves against the trading of one or two. no competition, = dollar not worth squat.
health is an issue in most developed countries already, adding hundreds more countries with little to no health systems in place to that mix would not result in better health, it would result in shockingly bad health.
who is to say what equal rights are? western and eastern communities have very different ideas on what that means, especially for women. who gets to decide that?
and think about how hard it is already, if you have a serious issue with your government it is to get that heard.
can you imagine how unhappy people would be with their voices going unheard amongst the 6 billion others?
in practicality it is simply impossible, would not work and would cause more mayhem than there is now.
Governments will always stink so long as humans run them.
hey now, i plan to be running my government one day. and itll be fabooooo
I am actually quite neutral on the topic. I see flaws but there are positive things that could happen too. Courty, by equal rights I mean equal oppourtunities. I know it’s impossible to make it 100 % equal but you know what? RIght now it is no where near close to being fair…And it needs to change. Do you think that just because someone is born into a place with no water and no clothes and food and shizz they should just be like ‘ohkay, I’ll just deal with that.’? Or would it be better if they had the chance to go out and buy an ipod and drink water (and vodka) annnnd eat maccas and jazz? I think it would be cool if we could have like the whole world functioning as one and having no poverty and starving children and drunken elephants andddd stuff? Imagine if people in 100 years time will be learning about history and being all like ‘Remember back in the day when people had NO FOOD????’ And they will be like ‘**** mannnnnnnnnnnn!!!’
And Say, I don’t think everyone would actually swarm to America….Not if we sorted out all the other countries and made it all into land where we can all jazz around in and it was all nerdy. Some people prefer places like England because it’s nerdy and NZ coz it’s green (???) and Australia because there is kangaroos and alligaters and like steve irwins body! Anddd other people might think ‘I know, imma go to China and see Sully and eat food with no bread’
Soooo yeah G. I’m tired and should sleep but I will rpely more because I think this is an interesting topic.

I am thinking in the sense that we are all global citizens because we are ALL a part of this global “community”. But, if we lose our sense of belonging to our own country, state, or town because we think it more important to be part of the global community, then I think we lose who we are to a damaging degree.
I will be glad to expound further if you like, but for this moment I will leave it at that, and thank you for asking. :)
We lose who we are is exactly it.

yep!
But some people have defined themselves by becoming a global citizen.
lmao ask the thousands and thousands of homeless, poor and starving americans just how “well” they have it.
A hell of a lot better than almost any person on earth 200 years ago.

really? I am not so sure that is true.
well, thats a matter of perspective innit.
Then beat up an old lady and take her purse… if you don’t get caught you get her money. If you do get caught they put you in an air conditioned facility with running water and three meals a day. Probably cable TV and maybe internet.

you’re so ignorant! Open yp your mind a little - for a change! Foreigners don’t take your jobs away - unless you’re incompetent to do anything about it! And besides, America is in decline now.
Idiot!
