birthday help: I’m having troubles with my birthday. - Help.com

I’m having troubles with my birthday.

My friends and I are going to a restaurant to eat. Am I suppose to pay for all their meals, which is like ten or so friends, or do they pay themselves? It seems impolite if I don’t pay for everyone, but we’re getting to an age where parents don’t pay for anything and I know when adults eat out, they pay for seperate meals, but what about now? Please help me.

Umm, if anything, your meal should be taken care of by your friends…pay separately.

If you are throwing a party and inviting them, I guess you supply the food.

But if you all agree to go out to a restaurant to celebrate, I would think they would pay for themselves.

If anything all your friends should chip in to pay for your birthday meal. It is your birthday after all, that should be a given to you!

As others before me have said, your friends should each be chipping in to pay for YOUR meal / drinks. On the other hand, if it’s a party that YOU organized, it might not be a bad idea to mention “separate checks” before the festivities start.
