My complaint about help.com - Help.com

My complaint about help.com

I am not short on words, so please bear with the length of this letter. First and foremost, help.com’s pouty attempt to construct a creative response to my previous letter was absolutely pitiful. Really, help.com, stringing together a bunch of solecistic insults and seemingly random babble is hardly effective. It simply proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that knowledge is the key that unlocks the shackles of bondage. That’s why it’s important for you to know that I see how important help.com’s disgraceful, tactless hijinks are to its faithfuls and I laugh. I laugh because if you think that this is humorous or exaggerated, you’re wrong. I, hardheaded cynic that I am, find that some of help.com’s choices of words in its crusades would not have been mine. For example, I would have substituted “brain-damaged” for “ultraphotomicrograph” and “meddlesome” for “phoneticogrammatical.” The truth hurts, doesn’t it, help.com? I had a conversation recently with some unprincipled prevaricators who were trying to intensify race hatred. That conversation convinced me that help.com is addicted to the feeling of power, to the idea of controlling people. Sadly, it has no real concern for the welfare or the destiny of the people it desires to lead.

help.com’s worshippers employ carefully developed psychological techniques to influence the attitudes of dominant culture towards any environment or activity that is predominantly cacodemonic. In reaching that conclusion, I have made the usual assumption that I certainly have a hard time trying to reason with people who remain calm when they see help.com guarantee the destruction of anything that looks like a vital community. help.com has declared that it’s staging a revolt against everyone who wants to institute change. help.com’s revolting all right; the very sight of it turns my stomach. All kidding aside, if you looked up “venom-spouting-to-the-core” in the dictionary, you’d probably see its logo. I call this phenomenon “help.com-ism”. The same might be said of irrational, mischievous pillocks. The problem is, if you’re the type who dares to think for yourself, then you’ve probably already determined that help.com thinks it’s good that its convictions weaken family ties. It is difficult to know how to respond to such monumentally misplaced values, but let’s try this: I plan to hinder the power of asinine insurrectionists like it. This is a choice I have made; your choice is up to you. But let me remind you that help.com insists that individual worth is defined by race, ethnicity, religion, or national origin. Sorry, help.com, but, with apologies to Gershwin, “it ain’t necessarily so.” I’m sorry if I’ve gotten a little off track here, but if I were a complete sap, I’d believe help.com’s line that statism can quell the hatred and disorder in our society. Unfortunately for it, I realize that help.com’s callow game of chess — the ultra-uppity chess of cynicism — has continued for far too long. It’s time to checkmate this malodorous pickpocket and show it that its apparatchiks are tools. Like a hammer or an axe, they are not inherently evil or destructive. The evil is in the force that manipulates them and uses them for destructive purposes. That evil is help.com, who wants nothing less than to canonize fatuitous fast-buck artists as nomological emblems of propriety.

help.com is utterly dotty. We all are, to some extent, but it sets the curve. As I’ve said in the past, help.com’s sympathizers insist that help.com can achieve its goals by friendly and moral conduct. I say to them, “Prove it” — not that they’ll be able to, of course, but because every time help.com tries, it gets increasingly successful in its attempts to force some to live by restrictive standards not applicable to others. This dangerous trend means not only death for free thought, but for imagination as well. We must inculcate in the reader an inquisitive spirit and a skepticism about beliefs that help.com’s trained seals take for granted. As mentioned above, however, that is not enough. It is necessary to do more. It is necessary to make help.com answer for its wrongdoings. I close this letter along the same lines it opened on: help.com plants false evidence to incriminate its adversaries.

Although I didn’t understand probably at least 50% of the words in that post, I absolutely agree with you. Don’t be shocked if they delete this post, they tend to do that when things don’t go their way.

Well that, and I didn’t read it all either. Only the first paragraph, and like 5 sentences into the second one. I see where it’s going though.

Notice my screen name is Dorien TTYL standing for Talk to you later, meaning help.com. I’ve been a way from this site for quite some time, and I only come back when I have a question that no one I know can answer, and that is why I came this time. But I had my question answered and I simply deleted my post. I only stick around now because it’s 4:45am, I’m not tired and there’s nothing better to do.

xD I find it funny that the title states its a complaint about the site, but yet you’re complaining about people complaining. If you don’t like complaints, why did you click the post?

I love the words you’ve used totally erroneously.. this post is hysterical and erudite. And I get what you’re saying completely. There’s no point in attacking help.com, but you can throw anything you like at it. I particularly love the closing sentence:

“help.com plants false evidence to incriminate its adversaries.”

Genuis. Sir/Madame, I applaud you.

Ok anon.
I would like for you to go through EVERY single one of my posts and have an answer to each and every problem I have asked for help with, if the post is not about a problem I would still like a reply.

You see, each and every one of us here is an average jo visiting this site to try and give our time to others, we may not have the magic answer but the fact is we do not WORK here, we visit here, like you and have to combat the many trolls and malfunctions on this site.

It has got a lot worse since the few visits from a total moron admin who doesn’t know his **** from his elbow and decided that he could infact do coding without any prior training… He quickly learnt that he had not infact got that one brain cell he thought he did and left so that no one could talk to him and even ask why he broke alot of functions.

*sigh*

But we still come here, we still try and we still battle with our own issues as well as trying to help other people along the way.

1. Yes? I have anger issues xD thought you would know that being that you know so much about everyone on here, or at least you make it seem like that.

2. What do you just decide to stalk everyone? Why does it matter about the posters IP address.

3. People like you are the reason this site is the way it is. So I’m leaving now, have a nice day.

First and foremost I like the choice of substitutions, personally myself if I thought the person was brain damaged, I would probably say it sounds like you have impaired cognitive function in ______ which is in the ______ hemisphere. Secondly I have to say I am sorry that you have had an experience where people were promoting racism, that is against TOS (Terms of Service), and said person would be punished. I would like to correct you on one thing,

That is incorrect, for a majority of people on help.com have got great concern for the welfare of the people, unfortuneatly you have come at a bad time, if you had arrived at it’s pinnacle when Jeff and Erik, and KT1 were admins, you would be writting a very different post (no offence to other past and present admins) the moderators of this site is great, however they are just humans and can’t be on all the time, such mods include Ditzy, SamXD, DaNi, and among others (they are some of the more frequent ones).

Again I am sorry to see that you have had such an experience, the fact of the matter is, a majority of us, we give our opinions, if you don’t like it, then that is fine, if you like it great, glad we could help, I unlike a majority of help.com users came here just to help, a majority of them came here for help and stayed to help ( no offence to other users) when this site died many users went on to create new sites not to replace help.com but to maintain the flow of things until help.com was resurrected.

help.com does not inhibit free thought, or imagination etc. one thing first of all is that this site is based in America, and therefore if this site did break the amandment they could be prosecuted, albeit that does not stop people breaking the law, you said free thinking, people write on here, with their opinions like yourself, let me ask you this though are they not thinking for themselves are they not choosing the words that they want to use, and not being told what to use.

Yes I have many unsolvable problems, and since your interested in knowing so much about me I’ll tell you a few.

I have anger issues, I’m very impatient, I get frustrated easily (which is why I have anger problems), I have letting go issues, and many more.

You keep saying I have problems, which I will gladly admit to =]. You trying to prove me wrong is what’s bothering me most here. I’m not staying because I love this place. I’m only still on because I was talking to an old friend, who is Polly. If you want to go stalk my shout box, then do so. I don’t really have a choice but to keep this account, there is no way to delete it. I never said I hated it, Did I? No, don’t recall.

I can easily relate to a person in a normal conversation, just not you, because I find you a pest with no purpose. I don’t have an attitude? I’m talking to you like a normal person? Does the fact that I’m spelling things correctly, and my usage of correct punctuation; and grammar make it seem like I have an attitude? Lmao, I don’t? Honestly, I think I’m doing well, because usually people; such as yourself, make me mad much quicker. Hmmm, but for some strange reason your “insults” don’t seem to strike me as hard as I believe they’re intended to.

Obviously they’re striking me because I’m replying, but that’s because you keep finding another thing to bug me about.

LMAO I knew I would be back too =]] I never left, simply because I can’t. That’s one of my unsolvable problems. That and I’m waiting for Polly to reply to my shout. I didn’t start on spelling and grammar? It’s not like I insulted the way you spell, or your grammar. I was commenting on my own, so what are you talking about?

Ew, You say ALWAYS here like I get on everyday. Please, don’t make it seem like help.com is my heroine, and I’m addicted to it, because it’s not, and never will be. Being addicted to this site is getting on everyday. Okay so I show up once every couple of weeks or so. So what? Is there something you want me to admit, because I thought I made it clear that I come back to this site by choice not by force, not because I love it, or I’m addicted, but simply just to see how things are going, stay posted with a few old friends, and ask a question. So whatever it is you’re looking for within my replies, can you let me know so I can get it over with and we can stop replying to each others pointlessness.

a “heroine” is the female version of a hero.
