Football help needed!

OK. So here’s the deal.

I signed up for football. Why? People told me I’d be good at it, and I wanted to try a sport- see what it’s all about.

I know NOTHING about football.

Double sessions are in two days- this Saturday they begin.

I need some help from anyone who knows anything about football.

Primarily, what should I do to get ready for double sessions? I’ve been going to the gym but my main concern is running. I’m a big guy and even running a lap on the track is hell for me. How can I get ready?

Secondly, what should I know before I get my game on? I know nothing. I know the general feel of the game- kill the quarterback, open holes for the quarterback, my lineman duties. But not much more.

Thanks in advance!

wasn’t a lineman, but your a little late to precondition yourself for camp. Running does suck, but two a days are definitely part of the conditioning process. You should totally eat at least one banana a day too, for the potassium, it will keep you from getting cramps. Oh and lots of gatorade

Your coach and team mates will show you what to do.
Don’t worry, i barely knew anything about rugby till i joined a team and i picked it up easily after training and playing the game. As for running, jogging, walking and sprint training are all good but you’ll do plenty of that in training so try to walk more.

oh yeah and I would make sure your ready for punishment, I mean especially if your a first year guy. Your team mates are going to do lots of nasty stuff to you. Part of the process but just take it in stride and remember you get to do the nasty next year
