I think I have a virus on another computer.

The symptoms are:
1.computer automatically going to windows blue error screen when i try to log in.
2.Both of the profiles were changed to not an administrator.
3.A password for administrator was created (I don’t know it and I didn’t do it.)

I’m pretty sure what I think is the virus started with a y in the task manager.. I know it was an exe.

Does anyone know what this is/ how I can get rid of it? I can’t do a system restore. The computer crashes.
If anyone can help me it would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks.

can you do a factory reset using the options on startup? as soon as it starts up try F11 or F8 which should take you through to options to wipe your whole computer and start again.
otherwise all i can suggest is takin it to the techy repair doods :S

whenever i get viruses or spywares in my pc/laptop i usually ask help in sites. such as http://forums.pcpitstop.com/ or http://www.cybertechhelp.com/forums/f…

but since you can’t open it because it crashes then i suggest you to bring it to a technician, sorry

Whenever I try to system restore i get an error saying that system restore has been turned off and to contact my local domain administrator to enable it. But all of my administrator abilities have been disabled. (Even the administrator username.)

It’s 2 different operating systems. This one is vista and the other one is XP. Would it still work?
