i bought a new laptop which is a toshiba satellite.

it has windows vista installed on it. nothing has been saved on it since it was bought, it’s merely been used to access email etc. it has the latest version of mcafee on it as well.. it has started crashing ! i’ll be in the middle of something and it will freeze completely and begin a physical memory dump or freeze to the point where ctrl alt del wont work and it will need to be switched off then on and it can only then be started in safe mode. does anyone have a clue what has happened to it????

I have had two Toshiba Satellites over a ten year period and have been very happy with both. If it is still under guarantee then you could take it back to the shop you bought it from.

Sounds like its overheating the processor fan could of failed and that is causing the problem. Hope this helps :-)
