Is it politically incorrect to wear a palestinian scarf

to a meeting for an organization that is known as a neutral organization (doctor’s without borders)? Members present will be quite prominent members.

Not specifically, BUT, considering the neutrality of the organization, wearing the scarf could show a possible bias on my behalf, not making me a valuable member of the organization. I am possibly over thinking this whole dilemma.

Why is it that you where wear it?

and is that reason in line with the organization?

Do you belong to the organization or are you just a guest?

I think you are over thinking. If you normally wear the scarf, then I would were it. If it is doctor’s with out boarders, there should be no boarder, right. It may make people who are not used to it uncomfortable at first, but you can help ease their discomfort by being yourself. The same person you are with or with out the scarf.

I would have to disagree; if this person is a member of doctor’s with out boarders it would be more professional to wear the common attire of the group. What ever that may be.

The organization is committed to bringing quality medical care to people caught in crisis regardless of race, religion, or political affiliation. I think that means it would be people from all over the world, helping people all over the world. They would each dress in the attire that is normal for were they are from. That is what I would think any way.

Profession defines a trait about the man just as the place they grew up. If you’re proud of where that was and want to represnt then by all means do as it’s perfectly politcally correct to wear unoffensive cultural clothing. Though it could be said as being offensive by some people I wouldnt worry about that for 2 reasons. Firstly because it’s not intended to be offensive nor has it ever been a symbolically offensive symbol on purpose. I personally don’t think it’s offensive in anyway and anyone with half a brain has no reason to feel offendend.
