u substitute the y for the 2x because y=2x
then u solve for x

Basically what you’re trying to do (I think) is find the values of x and y. To start with since y = 2x you can replace y in the first equation with 2x and get…

-x + 5(2x) = 0

From there you should be able to solve for x and then you can take that solution and us it to replace the x in the second equation and then solve for y. In the end you’re answer should be something like…

x = #
y = #

EX:_________-x+5y=0 y=mx+b

_______________y=2x
do unto one side of the equation as you do unto the other.

-1x+5y=0b
…..
5y=0b+1x
5y=(1)x
y=(1/5)x
…..
-2x+y=0
…..
