Procrastination Help

Hi guys, This is what’s goin on.
I have had an extensive amount of summer homework to do. And I foolishly decided to put it off day after day. At first i decided to start it the first weeks of summer, but now i have less than a week and a half to finish the work. (2 books, 4 essays) I do not want this to happen again, as this is my junior year, the one that i cant mess up. Please help me to deal with procrastination, Laziness and keep a discipline of completing my work.

Make a detailed list. Do the easy things first. Get started on things right after breakfast whenever possible.

dude, there is no easy cure for lazyness. you just have 2 be more self disciplined and do wat u have 2 do instead of messing around, in school years it isn’t the time 2 mess around with ‘’supposid friends'’ as when you leave school you will meet your real friends, i doubt u will be in touch with hardly any of em…

If you had at least worked on that stuff for one hour a day, you wouldhave been finished by now instead of rushing.

A schedule would have helped you lots!

give yourself a deadline of when you’re going to do each thing, and if you don’t make it i nthe deadline, punish yourself somehow, like, take away your computer until you finish it. or something.

GET IT DONE NOW OR NO COOKIE FOR YOU!!!! that’s how I deal with it.

But seriously, all you really need is someone beside you to make sure it gets done and encourage you to do it. I got behind in my work and lost a lot of work that needed to be done, but with someone beside me helping me out, it got done :)

Start with 15 minutes. Set a timer. Work for 15 minutes. It’s not enough, but it’s more than you’re doing now. Then stop and do something else. Set another timer. Eventually, you’ll be ready to set the timer for 20 minutes. Or 30. Then you won’t even need the timer anymore.

I do this thing where there is something I want. Things you may like (Food, reading, video games, texting, etc…) Read one chapter and then do a little of something else. Type one paragraph and then have some water. Reward systems work for me. (:
