health help: i have eczema on the back of my head…. - Help.com

i have eczema on the back of my head…

. in my hair actually! it really horrible and itches all the time! the only thing the doctor prescribed was to put cortizone on it… didnt really work though any other suggestions?

You can get special shampoos specially designed for eczema. Ask him to prescribe you a strong one… to me though it sounds like cradle cap or a condition similar to that. It may be a good idea to be referred to a dermatologist just in case.

the doctor said it was eczema, ive had it for a few years now… it starting to get really really bad. it itches like crazy! maybe i will talk to the dr again…the shampoo has to be prescribed?

Some shampoo’s don’t have to be but the shampoos that work and aren’t prescribed are usually extremely expensive so I’d prefer to get it on prescription :P

Yes topical steroids are the best option but their prolong use may be harmful in the end. Why do not you try aloe Vera gel, some oil or something other natural to relieve itching. You may try some natural remedies that may work without any adverse effect.
