but i try…cause if not i sink into a very dark place.

But sometimes that dark place just consumes everything whether you like it or not. It holds you hostage and eventually you develop stockholm syndrome towards it. What you once thought were shackles and chains becomes your protector and hiding place. You put up a wall of negativity around you so that you never have to get close to anyone. So that no one could ever hurt you.
