Disrupted sleep advice question.

I only got 4 hours of sleep Sunday morning. It’s 9 am now. If I consume some caffeine now will it disrupt my sleep tonight?

Don’t go too far down the taking caffiene to stay awake. I am struggling to get off the caffiene tablets during the day and trazadone to sleep at night.

I sent that before I had a chance to finish it.

Try and get into a regular sleep pattern and stay off the caffiene, etc.

That’s good advice. I wish you the best with getting off the caffeine and trazadone. That sounds like a rough way to operate. I was kind of thinking of one or two diet cokes. I’d like to be really productive today.

I’ve heard that it takes more or less 6 hours for caffeine to leave your system.

Thanks for that. I think a few diet cokes will be ok for you.

caffeine just makes me poop. so i drink juice instead. and trazadone just left a bad taste in my mouth, so i just deal with sleep issues my own way. I just barrel through the problems, largely being that i don’t get any sleep. (and a cat that meows like a nut at 3 and 5 am doesn’t help)

I have the mewing cat thing, the young one also likes to attack my feet while I am sleeping. If I shut him out he just continually throws himself at the door until I let him in.

It shouldn’t affect your sleep tonight. But the best way to function on a daily basis is a good nights rest. Even 6-8 hours will suffice. But for instance, if you somehow break the pattern and only get 4 hours of sleep, you won’t have to compensate for those other 4 hours you lost by combining them to your already 8 hours the next night.

Thanks for all the replies folks. I’ve had a good day, not as productive as I had hoped but I got in some solid friends and family time. :)
I ended up drinking one diet coke around 10 am, it’s about 7:30 pm now and I’m pooped. I’m going to have a light and uncharacteristically late dinner, chill out with some X Files dvds and hit the sack around 9 or 9:30.

Rock on helpful folks, this is my first time on this site and I’m quite impressed!

X Files DVD’s! One of my favourite passtimes. Have you watched them all yet?
