I think that maybe I sorta like this guy.
We’ve been through a lot and have history but as of right now, we’re just friends like we started as. Well, maybe just friends.
Recently, I’ve been wondering if he likes me again or not…
Here’s what I’ve taken into consideration:
Two weeks ago (Sunday), we hung at the pool with our families. It seemed like he kept trying to get close to me casually as a joke because he was “seeing if he could fit us both in an inflatable tube together”. BTW, it worked. :) As we were leaving, he asked if I was busy the rest of the summer. I told him I wasn’t.
The next day, we got on an IM together and were just being random when I decided to ask if he still liked the girl he’d last said he liked. Here, he began to pause between his replies. After explaining who it was, he told me he didn’t feel that way about her anymore. We kept chatting randomly until I decided to ask “So, you don’t like anyone anymore?” He didn’t say anything for a few minutes, then said he had to go and left.
Tuesday, we hung at the pool. Not much exciting that day, or at least I can’t remember… But he did tell me his mom wouldn’t let him out of the house Monday, which made me think he been meaning to call…
Wednesday, he invited me to see a movie with him. We decided on Aliens in the Attic and I asked my family (his was busy) if they wanted to tage along. No one did. We showed up at the theater and it turned out the movie wasn’t showing that day. We chose to see GI Joe an hour later and just walked around and looked at the stores until it started. He texted me after about 5 minutes when I’d been getting food and asked where I was. While watching, when two characters kissed in one scene, he seemed to tense up a little and wouldn’t look at me (but maybe that’s just my imagination).
Thursday, we hung at the pool again. The only bigger thing seemed to be that a guy we’ve both known for a while showed up at the pool and jokingly asked how long we’d been dating. My friend said 3 weeks as a joke and I shoved him under water and said “Since never.” The other guy said “Doesn’t seem like it.”
Everything else is a blur and I think he was out of town a lot that week. Some of the more major points I can think of:
-He knew about my birthday Thursday but apologized sincerely for it today. He told me he just didn’t know what to say.
-He wouldn’t talk to me at our school open house and kept walking ahead of me (maybe he was worried to approach me after “forgetting” my birthday) but seemed sorta happy when we figured out we’d have most of our classes together. Maybe he was feeling shy.
-Today, we saw a movie again with a few friends and he kept talking to me. He also paid for his own drink when I was paying for everyone else’s.
-Tonight, he sent me a text that said “Right now someone is thinking about lovin u (seriously) if you dont fwd this to ten people you are going to lose your love NO JOKE!” I texted him back to say “thats rlly sweet, but… y did u forward it 2 me?” He said “Idk”. I said “i like it. :)” He said “Thanks”.
Sometimes he seems like a jerk only because I think he’s trying to act cool.
