Computer is recognizing my camera, but it’s not?

? Here’s what happened.

The first time I plugged the camera (Canon Powershot A1100 IS), I had the “Computer” window open, and when I turned on the camera, I briefly saw the device detected. But immediately my computer shut down… I have no idea if it was a battery malfunction, because moments before I checked the battery icon and it was full (my computer was not plugged into an outlet). Or if the camera itself caused the shutdown??

Then, after turning the computer again, I tried plugging in the camera via USB port and when I turned on the camera, the computer made the little sound it makes when recognizing a device (and makes the sound when the device is disconnected) but no window pops up, the software I installed doesn’t recognize it, I tried every possible way I know to try to access my camera but no avail. I also tried directly putting the memory card into the card reader but nothing happened at all.

ahhh, thanks Anthrax. I deleted all USB entries, uninstalled my camera (which was detected, but the driver wasn’t working properly or something) and had it detect it again… and it worked. :)
