Today is the First Day of the Rest of My Life

I haven’t figured out what I want to do with the rest of my life — and, well, I think it’s time I figured that out.

One thing I’m pretty sure of is that most of the people on Earth couldn’t care less about my life — most of them hardly care about anyone’s life, besides maybe their own. And most of them don’t feel like thinking about how their lives are related to anything else besides eating, sleeping and maybe 1 or 2 other activities.

Still: I really have no idea what to do with the rest of my life.

I really don’t think having people give me orders is a GOAL per se…

Yesterday is but a dream, tomorrow but an idea. Today is your life. :)

That’s nice :)

but actually, don’t want it to be MY life. I am more interested in OUR lives

What do you mean?

My existence is meaningless without being related to other people’s existence.

In fact: This is actually a central element of many rel..ions (don’t want to spell out that word ;)…

N. Mandela called it ubuntoo (wrong spelling — put a “u” at the end ;)

Does that make any sense?

I am not familiar with that, however I can understand the need for existing as a part of a community and how that can bring a sense of fulfillment to a person’s life.

Why do you say this?
This world isn’t really the right one for me — I must have taken a wrong turn somewhere…

You haven’t connected with like-minded people perhaps.

If you know exactly what you are looking for in others, then maybe even start here to look for groups who share your same or similar interests.

lol
It is hit and miss here, that is for sure. But it may be worth a shot. Other ideas would be to go to the local library and get books on what you are interested in, putting an ad in the paper to find like minded folks, expose yourself to more local community events.

One of your better bets may be to google various words that apply to what you believe and are searching for.

You can also ask a question on Yahoo! answers. Here is the link: http://answers.yahoo.com/

You can also search for similar questions asked on the same site. :)

Cynicism is fine as long as you recognize it as such :)

The thing is: I don’t believe in anything + I’m not searching for anything.

I think the only thing I want is for people to be happy — and I can’t seem to figure out how to HELP make that happen… because no one will tell me what they want — apart from m*ney… as in: “don’t give me that do-goody-good BS”.

meh….

:|

Many people do not know what they want because they have lost part of themselves in the daily shuffle of life. Truly, I think that the more that an individual invests in his or her self, the easier it may be to relate peace and goodwill to others.

It is nice to know that you are concerned with the happiness of others. If you have found that happiness within yourself, share your joy and peace with others.

True happiness does not come from without, is not something you can really give or even take away. True joy and peace I really believe comes from within.

No human can turn on someone else’s happy switch if you are determined to be down. And no one can turn off your happy switch if you are determined to be happy. No these are not “absolutes” but these ideas can be liberating when it comes to determining how you want to move forward in your life.

Sometimes all it takes is a smile on your face to make someone’s day. I know that when I smile, I feel tons lighter, things just “seem” to work better and I just plain feel happier.

The happier you are with yourself, the happier others will be around you. Test this to see if it is true. :)
