So day two with the therapist went wonderfully!
As a lot of you may know. I am having lots of trouble breaking my bad thinking prcess and havent known how. Well My therapist gave me a skill that he wants me to start practicing. It was pretty cool and i thought i might give it to you guys in case it might you guys too!
Its called the CCC’s:
Catch It
Challenege It
Change It
Cathcing it is taking a step back after what just happened. I will use an example that all of you know well from me.
“Im stupid!” I need to catch it! Stop and say that i just called myself stupid.
Challenege it means to, obviously, see what makes you really think that. “why am i stupid? Stupid means ‘unable to learn, and i learn new things each day so why am i stupid?”
Change it - “Im smart!”
And thats the simple process. It made complete sense when he was telling me all this last night. It was fun! I typed up those 3 and put it up on my desk so i can always see it and be able to realize what im doing and how i can change it!
