I think it’s totally ok! That’s where you’ll meet some people and make new friends! Say hi to someone while you’re getting a drink, say you’re new in town, etc, start a convo, i’m sure you’ll meet some people!

Sure, it’s ok, but don’t be stupid and don’t let your guard down when you’re by yourself.
As a matter of fact, be real careful. Use your gut instinct when talking to ppl. You can never be too cautious when you’re in a bar in a town where you know no one. I personally would suggest you wait until you meet ppl at work, then go with them.

My problem is that I work at a school. People there are very professional. dont think I would meet anyone there.

Jr. made a good point - use your judgement and be careful out there… i am from a small place so my first instinct was be friendly and roll with it, but you never know who is out there. i still think it’s ok to go it alone to meet some people but just keep your wits about you

I’d recommend taking up a sport, if that’s your thing, or maybe joining a a weekly religious meeting, i’m not overly religious, but people are usually really friendly at them…

If you’re a woman I would not recommend it. If you’re a guy, no sweat. Just make sure you ask around to see which one is right for you. Some night clubs can be dangerous. Depends on the area.
