I want to travel to Africa and live in a village there before I head to college.

Possibly do some community service work! I’m thinking of majoring in Anthropology and I really think a year off before going to school would be a good idea for my studies.
But my parents can’t afford to send me abroad and my school has not allowed me to have an after school or summer job. I have about two thousand dollars saved up from birthdays and a summer job two years ago.
How do I go about funding traveling just out of high school?
Also, I’m thinking of going to Northern Africa, anyone have any specific suggestions of where I should go?
I’ll be an 18-year-old blonde girl and I want to be safe wherever I go.
