Each hair strand has a life of 7 years, the hair follicle would mean any drug you have had within the last year would show up.

What the F***, everybody? I’m just guessing here, but I don’t think many, if any, of you have ever really been concerned about this. Do any of you really know?

I do. All drug tests have a particular threshhold that they are looking for. There will not be a “positive” or at least a “certain Positive” designation unless you break that reading. They are looking for abuse and regular use, neither of which is your issue. I certainly hope that you went and tested anyway, and that you will report back with your results. I think your other helpers here will be suprised.

Consider this, If by chance you where at a concert indoors and where constantly in the presence of smoke for an hour, this may also show as ingestion of Marijuana in a hair test. Unless, of course, there was a threashhold to determine problematic exposure over simple exposure.

If you din’t get a buzz, or you did, has nothing to do with it.

FYI, for jobs, even highly secure ones, these threshholds are set higher than for legally required “monitoring” tests. I have had hair and urine tests and have asked extensive questions. Yes, hair tests can go back as far as 3 months, but as the hair grows the protiens get further from the head. The tests are not cheap and justifying looking for the most minute instance of trace elements just isn’t condusive to efficient business.

Don’t freak out, and keep your head up. No need to shave every inch of your body. You’re gonna be just fine. Enjoy your job. And, if you don’t, I hope you make enough to usher you to a life you can enjoy without fears like this.

I took a hair follicle drug test on july 28th, which was yesterday…I’ve smoked on 3 seperate occasions in the timeframe of 33 days prior to the test….I’ve only gotten truely high on one of those occasions…I am 6′4, weigh 220lbs, and just got my hair cut last Saturday…it was a regualr haircut, I didn’t shave my head…is the marijuana going to show up in the hair follicle test??
