Well I thought a sociopath was just someone who suffered from a anti social personality disorder, although people also seem to describe psychopaths as them as well. In which case you just suffer from a mental illness and don’t necessarily have to have done anything bad.

It is a person who is in affected by antisocial personality disorder. Any one regarded as a sociopath can be highly aggressive and hostile towards humanity without feeling any signs of remorse.

Since this is a disorder, I think it would be dismissive to say that these kinds of people are deliberately bad or malicious. They just lack a sense of guilt which, in their mind, it gives them permission to do it again and again. There are treatment for sociopaths.
