I don’t know what’s wrong with me.
Or if there is anything wrong with me at all.
I see things out of the corner of my eye. I know they’re not there but I get really scared sometimes. These aren’t just flashes of movement. They’re people or animals or a mix of both. They’re pretty detailed.
I also hear voices. On occasion they’re loud, like someone is talking to me, but usually they’re like thoughts. They’re not my thoughts. Some of them come from someone I call Charlotte. She’s usually a downer. Bad feelings come from her and this other girl that doesn’t have a name. The other girl can’t talk. She’s blindfolded and tied up to protect me from her.
Others come from Erica. She’s everything I want to be. Beautiful, confident, happy, and secure. She’s the one telling me to be positive. She’s one of the good guys. Then there’s Caroline. She is pretty hot-headed and swears a lot. But she’s on my side, too.
The voices don’t interfere with my life.

Where were you?
You can also watch events on Help.com as they happen
sounds a little like the beginning’s of split personality.. or extreme paranoia.. go to your GP.. they should be able to refer you to someone you can talk to..
thanks
My post makes me sound like a total basket case, but I’m not. Nobody knows about this stuff but me, and they haven’t guessed that I have anything wrong with me. I guess I seem pretty normal on the outside.
And I’m a happy person, too. I’m not depressed or anything.
I just want to figure myself out.
That sounds like schizophrenia. Visual perceptions of people who seem real, but in reality, they do not exist. They are going to seem very real to the person suffering from schizophrenia however. It’s common for them to talk to you, so you will here “voices.” These imaginary people have been known to drive a schizophrenic literally insane. In the worst cases, these seemingly real-life people can shout at you, and even give you commands that you will not agree with.
Here are some common symptoms people who are affected by schizophenia will experience:
This sounds like me, but I’m not as extreme.
Maybe I’m gonna get hit hard by schizophrenia or dissociative identity disorder when I get older. I’m only fifteen.
That would suck.
I don’t have a history of mental illness in my family, but my grandmother is adopted. These things generally run in families, right?
Please pardon my grammatical mistake. That should’ve been “hear” before voices.
I do agree with mills and Roltz. You aren’t insane, but you do need to seek some psychiatric help which will ease the clutter you are feeling right now. You could be schizophrenic, or have multiple personality disorder, it’s impossible for any of us to know for sure, but you NEED to see a professional in order to be properly diagnosed.
They will be able to give you answers, and they will be able to help.
Okay thanks.
I just worry about telling my parents. I tried to tell my mom once but I lost my nerve. Its just kind of embarrassing.
I can understand that. But they need to know in order to be able to help you. This is an important issue, and it’s effecting your health.
You need to tell them, and you must seek professional help. And it will be hard, but it will be all worth it in the end. :)
I was ABOUT to begin another possible explanation….Until I saw you typed “animals”.
I mean, that is a part of my explanation, but… I agree with the schizo. part.
I was going to say that your house is haunted. All of my encounters started like that, except they didn’t talk, they just standed there while I was like “O_O…*pisses pants*…”
Go get help :3
If you are having hallucinations, then it would be unlikely for you to be affected by split personality, or more widely know today as dissociative identity disorder. Most people that develop this disorder have had dreadful childhood experiences and use the personalities or identities as a coping mechanism in situations that are too violent or traumatic for them to consciously assimilate. You can find more information about dissociative personality disorder by simply typing in the name itself.
dont be scared - you are not crazy!
try to find a good psychotherapist u can talk to
do you have memory gaps when u think about your past or can u remember everything?
I haven’t had any traumatic experiences and I can remember tons of stuff from the past; no part of my life that I should remember is left out. Of course, I don’t remember things that happened to me when I was really little, but that is normal.
I’ve had a very normal life.
Normal friends, normal family, normal school, normal everything.
Maybe my brain is just making this stuff up so something a little exciting happens once in a while.
I don’t know.
I’ve always had a very active imagination.
Its not that I’m dissatisfied with my life, its just that my town is SO BORING sometimes.
I’m going to boarding school soon, so that is really exciting!

I don’t feel like I know who I am. Like I’m not a whole person.

I’ve been having the same thing happen to me, I’m 15 also, I don’t know what’s wrong either. Like you I keep seeing things out of the corner of my eye, but I’m seeing people or movement like people watching me rather than animals, and it seems detailed but every time I look at it it’s not there. Also like you I’ve been hearing voices too, except I’ve heard many more, and it’s gone on since childhood I suppose, but it’s just recently started bugging me. I sat in gym class once and thought the entire gym class was yelling things got so loud, at the end I kept asking people if they heard it but they didn’t and that’s when it started scaring me. Now I’m walking home talking to the voices, but I always feel like they’re there not just inside my head. And sometimes they’ll be nice like yours, and other times they’ll urge me to do more negative things. I think it only becomes a real problem when the things you see or the voices tell you negative things, otherwise they’re more of what people call ‘the guiding voice’ and apparently many people hear them. I keep trying to tell people about it, but every time I want to something stops me and I just briefly told my mother about it, soon to reach my therapist, so it should be interesting what they say about it. I know what you’re going through though, I hope you find some relief from it, it can get complicated sometimes.
