what are some stretches to do to achieve the center/straddle splits?

i have really tight hips that wont release. any ideas ?? thanks.

sit with your legs out infront of you in a 90 degree with the floor
spread your legs till u cant open them any more, then bring them bach closer at about 5 degrees slowwwwwwlly stratching your head to each knee and the floor betwene your legs
always hold a stretch for 45 seconds never more than 60 seconds
NEVER bounce in into or out of a stretch

if u had a weight to hold out infront of you it will help u bend forward

a second better way is with a partner
theyhave thier legs spread like yours sitting infront of you, and there is a diamond shape between you
holding hands they pull you into the stretch

or they can slowly gently push on your back pushing you down into the sitting split stretch

gravity splits are splits on a wall. Schooch your booty to the wall, lay down on your back. Make your legs go straight up the wall, now split. At first you may only be able to so far, but if you do this for 3 months 3 times a week for two min, you will be able to do center splits in no time!
I am a dance teacher and I learned this trick from a cheerleading coach. It hurts, but it works!!
