I would go with butter over cooking oil for sure. Actually, you should make hash oil and then add it to your butter or cooking oil. On second thought though, there really isn’t a safe way to make hash oil, so maybe you should just stick to butter. Strain it with a cheese cloth or a nylon stocking to get all of the plant matter out of the butter.

Personally I like butter because you can put it on a sandwich or a piece of toast. Also, if you make a large quantity of butter, you can freeze some of it to help prevent it from going bad. On top of that, its easy to transport because it looks a lot like guacamole.
