Do You Get Happier As You Get Older?

I’ve read that older people are happier on average than younger people, and that leels of happiness increase as you get older. Do you think that’s true?
Would anyone have any information on this?

I’m only 17, but I’m happier now, overall, than when I was younger.

Your thoughts?

Yes.
People find themselves and begin to live life according to their decisions and what they think is right.
People in their fifties are far cooler though.
They don’t give a flying peanut about peoples opinions and pretty much do what they feel like doing.

I don’t think happiness has an age. More a matter of circumstance. It has much to do with what is going on in you life at the time :)

my opinion..
maybe because older people had already got a chance to live for their dreams..achive new things..live their own life etc.
then i’d say that teenagers mostly are not happy because of he fact that a lot of things are changing for them..as soon as the spirits calm down they find their way..like uni or so..they change..they become more mature, more stable …they know their path in life
then…i guess there are a lot of unhappy old people as well…like what if they can’t achive their dreams…and so on..
but that’s just my personal opinion of course
