Windows security System said “Your system is infected.Do you want to protect it?

So then i clicked on “Yes, protect my PC now (recommended)”

Then it says “Do you want to run or save this file: Name: setup_builde8_157.exe”

What do i do? Should i run it?

It sounds like a pop up con ad, basically getting you to have their software etc.

Run your own antivirus, do a full scan.

If something like pops up and it is not your antivirus then it is bollox

now thats out of my system, its malware - it will “scan” your system, and then say you need to pay 20 quid or so for the licenced version

download spybot, that will fix any problems on that front you might have

I suggest running a free anti-virus scan at symantec.com if you don’t have an anti-virus program & if it detects anything, either go buy a good program (whatever you do, Mcafee sucks. It doesn’t block annoying pop ups & I got a virus either way) or buy it from the manufacturers site. :)
If anything, I trust Norton 100%.

I don’t like Norton because it blocks alot of good stuff on the net.

You might have to adjust the settings then or maybe it’s the default settings on the type of explorer you have.
You also might’ve not cleaned up the virus completely. I had the same problem when I had the 2008 version but I figured out that sometimes in order to detect/clean a virus, you have to start your comp. on safe mode. I’m a Frostwire addict, so I’ve bumped into 3 types of critical viruses :(. But I cleaned it :D

You clearly don’t know how to use Norton… it doesn’t block anything on the internet unless you tell it to - except viruses.
