It has been a year but i am back. - Help.com

good you are back..but you do have any idea on how much this site sucks now? i am considering leaving this site and not come back :( i finally know what you get in return for helping people :(

I’ve been here a year and it has changed a lot in that time. It used to be better than it was, but there’s still people needing help, and still people wanting to help them, so the important stuff’s still the same.

I’m curious to know as to how this site has changed… I haven’t noticed anything major.

Posts don’t automatically update any more, you can’t change your avatar, trolls are everywhere and the link to the chatroom’s disappeared. Nothing that major - the trolls thing is by far the most annoying, and it’s putting a lot of the newer users off. Not to mention that a lot of the regular older users have vanished.

Thanks. I though trolls were fairly commonplace on just about any internet chat site.

The mods and admins used to catch them pretty quickly here, but now all the admins have left and there’s only 3 mods, so it’s difficult for them to keep up.

Trolls are all over the place.

Basically, the admins changed hands twice and the domain was sold to a large corporation…that being said, they all had ideas on how to build/fix what Jeff had made…

Unfortunately, the admins weren’t given a lot of time or resources to ‘fix’ help—from what I understand. So, like another interesting site, it’s pretty much gone to the winds. Most people who met/knew people got contact information and populated other places.
