We cant, we can only lessen the effects and prepare ourselves for the worst. Even if humanity managed to stop completely all forms of pollution today, some of the gases released by yesterdays polluters will take about 80 years to reach the ozone layer and deplete this protection.

The sad truth is that to even lessen the effects would require a complete shift in our economy, our attitudes, our lifestyles, and much more. Most people don’t like change :(

people can stop global warming by being ‘green’ in their area by recycling,not using their cars etc.
if everybody made an effort to make some small change in their life it would make a big difference to the effects of global warming.
