Any one good in precalculus?

Possible took MATH 1311 in college?

I have a problem that is confusing me
it reads
A square concrete foundation was prepared as a base for a large cylindrical gasoline tank

A) Write the radius r of the tank as a function of the length x of the sides of the square

B) Write the area A of the circular base of the tank as a function of the radius r.

I know for sure I have to use the following formulas

A=PieR^2

and

A=X^2

but I dont really understand what A) and B) are asking me to do with them

can anybody help me out??

:(

Remember that you will always wish to use as small foundation as possible to save on cost, but it must support cylinder at all points.
