I need Help letting go of my hair.

Im a 17yr old guy and one of the rare “black emos” (African American emo=killer kidz of kolor). Not really emo but i like the style. Im going into the military at the end of this school year (my senior yr) and i need my 3 yrs of rotc to go in with higher rank (wich means more pay).

My problem starts that appearantly i still needed 1 semster more of rotc, and I started growing and relaxing my hair last year at the end of the first semester. To be in my highschool’s rotc I have to have a haircut, and i’ve put so much time and effort into my hair its just too hard to let go. To be honest, for black ppl, turning regular nappy into awesomness is HELL! (burning perms, iron burns, and messy oils)

It just got to the point where I could almost have the perfect style, now it ALL has to go, and this might make me, make bad decisions……..like dropping the military all together. I have no solid back up plans, so I REALLY need some help on this, because this is the last time i’ll ever be able to grow out my hair…

i guess you could wear a wig or something… but seriously, you sound like a girl
just wait until the last possible second to get a haircut
and tell your friends that you need to get it cut so either they’ll sympathize with you or be like “thank god”

i am another one of those “black emos” and you should go with the ROTC i mean really youre a senior so next year you’ll be out in the world trying to get a job and they’ll look at you funny if your hair is weird.not like every other black guys.yeah i know it sucks but its not the end of the world
