life help: Over the past couple of weeks I have been going from business - Help.com

Over the past couple of weeks I have been going from

business to business, school to school, and church to church trying to raise the support that I need to pursue my dream to contribute what I can in the world around me. What I have discovered is something that is very alarming to me! I have not been able to find any who wish to be a part. All people seem to talk about is how bad the economy is and how hard it is going to be for me to raise the monies I need. But these people are working!! They get paid the same thing they always got paid yet they blame an economy for their greed. I would much rather a person have enough self-respect to be honest and tell me they really don’t feel comfortable giving a stranger money for a ridiculous dream. Although I am little angered while being blatenly lied to from working people, I am even more upset at the responses I have gotten so far from the churches in my area. Some church members have had the audacity, without even knowing me, to question my faith. These people are asking the memebers of their congregations to give 10% of their income in tithes and offerings and justifying their request with scripture. But for what?! Why give? Why, So the church leaders can have this or that? Build this or that? How in the world is that advancing the kingdom of heaven? Christ specifically told his disciples to clothe the poor, feed the hungry, and care for the sick. How many people fit this criteria in the church? Better yet how could someone teach a truth that they do not follow? Faith without works is dead faith and merely speaking of a faith is not work! Faith requires action! The kingdom of heaven is within each and every person alive! Not in a church, not in the sky, and surely not in a bank account! It is in our hearts. We all have the right to feel worth-ful and significant. Not just the so-called teachers of the truth!

No one can stop us from achieving our hearts desire if we truly believe! No one!

Sorry that you misunderstood my point of view. I never said that I was angry because everyone does not give me money. Referring to the so-called teachers of the “faith”, I said they are not following the doctrine they speak of. Christ spend hie entire life trying to reveal this truth and in return was crucified for it. He always warned his disciples to stay away from the “pharisees” which simply means religious people. How many sermons do presachers preach on tithing? Would they be willing to do what they do for free? That’s what christ said they should do.

The first thing that should stick out to anyone is the fact that there is an entire world outside of America that has a belief system of their own. How in the world can someone justify saying that God created all of these people outside of the U.S. only to punish them if they didn’t follow the same as “the christians”? That is a rediculous belief in my opinion. If you prefer following christianity then do it. Just remember the great commission. Ask yourself why you are doing what you are doing. And if your only response is because of what you alone can get, then that’s no belief worth dying for. What would you be remembered for? Who would you be remembered by? Would you even be remembered at all? Solomon has described this kind of life as meaningless.
