Why? I hit a guy if hes being an idiot. I playfight with my male friends quite a lot.

I never hit a girl… are you saying a real punch that will leave a bruise or a playfull tap? Every day?

Why wouldnt you hit a girl though? I dont get that. If a girl hits you hard you can hit her back hard, if she has done something that would cause you to punch her if she was a guy, hit her. Ive had bruises from guys and Ive given bruises to guys. Gender doesnt really come into it in my opinion.

I don’t think I’ve ever met a girl that could kick my butt plus the police love to make it illegal for you to own guns for any kind of domestic violence in America. Now maybe if Layla Ali was picking on me I’d hit back… or run!

Well, if you know you can win then even less reason to stand for their sh*t, surely? And am I being really slow here, cos I dont get how guns came into that…

I know I’ve been in situations though where I have been so angry I have been scratching and punching and slapping a guy and then as soon as they actually fight back it kind of snaps back into reality and I’ll calm down. I hate it when guys do that “holding her off without hurting her” thing. But then Im a pretty physical person, Id much rather have a full on fight with someone than an argument.

I do the let her punch as hard as she can and laugh in her face routine. You’re a girl, do you really think you can hurt me? If I get scratched I’ll push a girl down but it just seems strange to try to hit a girl to me. The gun thing is if you hit a girl in the face and get arrested and convicted for it you are no longer allowed to own guns. I have a bunch of guns and love to hunt and shoot and it would make me absolutely miserable to give up my guns one of which was my grandfather’s 13th birthday present in 1917.

I think the message that the author of this post is trying to get across is about respect. It is unseemly for a man to hit a woman because it shows lack of respect for that woman. This has nothing to do with playful hitting out of friendship or whether you feel like you need to respond to violence with more violence. This is purely about whether you respect a woman enough to not stoop to hitting her out of anger. And I definitely agree that you should, AMEN!
