I have just had a pap smear about two weeks ago and wondering how long results usually take.

She also found a polyp growing from my cervix and made an appointment to visit a GYN im scared it may be cancer and after seeing my Mum go through cancer I am terrified. Has anyone else been through similar I am 48 years old and about to be a Grandma and very scared.

Once, the lab that did my pap found something questionable and sent it to a different lab. It took a couple of weeks for me to find out anything. It should be about time. I’m sure your problems are why it’s taking so long. The labs try to be very thorough, which is a good thing, if it is cancer, you will want to know.

Also, make sure you continue getting your paps done regularly. If you do have cancer and they catch it quick, it can be taken care of very easily.

Okay thanks for your replies any advice is very welcome. I know at the clinic the doctor said they will just remove the polyp but still worrying.
