I am a single mother of three boys in school full time.
I also work full time as a bartender, it allows me to be home and take care of my kids most of the hours they need me, like before and after school. It has become very difficult for me to make ends meet lately. I have even tried searching for another job, and continue to do so, but there are literally no jobs in my area.
I would not normally set aside my pride and ask for help, but I am desperate. I need to get the utilities on in my house. We moved in in July and have not been able to get them on due to past due balances. I do receive loans from school, and was planning on receiving a refund and taking care of this balance at that time, however the State of Ohio made budget cuts and took away the funding I needed to do so. (Not alone in this issue I am sure). So I am not receiving any refund now. I have asked for assitance through HEAP and was notified they could not help until Nov. 1. I need my utilities on now! How do they think people can get by without lights or warm water until then? I digress.
If you can please help, or recommend other resources that will actually help, please let me know. My past due balance is $584.00 for my electric. That is all I need.
