First thoughts of Norway…
Fjords (esp. Sognefjord)
Nature
Oslo
Lumber industry
Aurora Borealis
Hammerfest
Svalbarg
Lofote islands
Beautiful countryside
Lillehammer, Trondheim, Bergen, Kristianssand
Crazy drivers!!!
Stock cars, motorsport, ATVs, Freaky dirtbikes
Vikings, The various norge languages, Rafting
Meh… those are just what I could come up out of the top of my head.
I had a lovely holiday in Telemark a few years ago. It was June and even though I sat up late it did not get dark. The country was beautiful and the people were very friendly. The only negative thing I can say is that the alcohol was very expensive.

Oh yeh I can remember now that kind of sucked. Also they don’t sell booze on weekends and on weekdays only until 5pm or sumthing like that. But otherwise was awesome.

This is actually reaaly good! Depends on where you’re from of course, but still! ;)

Wow, well I actually live in Telemark! :) Go to college here and love it, but I grew up in Trondheim (in the middle of the country). If you go further north, it never get’s dark in the summer, and as yassengregorovich said -you may see Aurora Borealis, the northern lights.

You’re right, unfortunaly we are one the most expensive countries in the world. But we do sell booze both on weekdays and weekends! ;) But since we don’t sell spirits in the normal grocery stores, it’s limited to pub’s at nighttime! ;)
But I’m impressed you guys!
We still think that most people around the world belives that we have icebears walking in the streets and that Norway is the capital of Sweden!
Thanx -fun to find out that people are more enlightened and educated than I thought! :D

Telemark is very beautiful and you are very lucky to live there. I was looking at the photographs I took after reading your post. The quality of the light was so different to ours in Scotland and I loved the stillness of the lake water. I will definately be coming back for another holiday.
Hi there Scary Doll. I sure would love to go to Scotland too, It’s been one of my many places on my “to do list”. You are so welcome back to Telemark. I’m not leaving until next year, so If your’e back before that, just say the word, I’m always glad to meet up with new people! Looking forward to skiing season right now -there are a lot of intarnational students here, and we are so going to learn them how to have fun in the snow up in the mountains! :)
Any one else?
(I know -it seems like I’m after some goodiewords about my own country, but infact it’s mostly about finding out if people actually know anything about the country at all -I mean, I’ve actually gotten the question “Do you have mobilephones Norway?” from some Americans…lol)
