College (please help) - Can kids hang around on campus?
I’m a junior, just transferred to a small private christian school and I used to be a camp counselor for kids for quite a while. I’m eighteen and I met a couple 12 year old’s hanging around campus. We talked for a while, and a few days later I was chillin in the school pool with another guy who had family from home with him at the pool too. The same 12 yr olds came around with a 14 yr old and wanted to jump in. I figured, sure. The other guy was allowed to bring friends and family from home to the pool, why couldn’t I let them as my friends? so I said sure and they jumped in and had fun. they didn’t get in trouble but later a security guy was askin the 14 yr old questions and tellin him to go home when he was chillin on campus (they live nearby)
To get straight to the question - was I wrong to hang with them and invite them to the pool? Am I wrong to think they can hang around the dorms or the cafeteria? nobody’s told me I’m wrong but they ask me questions about the kids and they ask the kids lots of questions and give them looks like they don’t belong - they probably don’t though. on the other side - is it inappropriate for me to hang out with them at the college? I never thought hanging with kids would be inappropriate as a camp counselor, but as a college kid, is it really that different?
