well not really, if you do it constintly then it will be a problem. you dont want to switch from the low rpm to high. like if you were in second gear and you put it in nutral and you floor the pedal and you just put itinto drive. dont do that. your tranny wont last/.

What if I’m in neutral but idleing?
There a big hill near my house, several miles long, and I shift into neutral. Going 40mph, so 4th or 5th gear, If I shift into Drive from neutral going that fast will I damage the transmission?

if you are not pushing the pedal then no. just shifting from drive to nutrul or vice versa wont hurt.
