I went to this black panther party convention thing, I think I was eleven. Me and my dad are not black but he was involved in another organization in the sixties. The speaker was saying how the white people could not speak there because it was ******** in some way false for them to speak in the convention. That really taught me that helping and participating is not just cut and dried, you can’[t just dive in. Fools rush in where angels fear to tread. In other words it takes intuition and good judgement to help and talk to people. People are complex.

I was severely emotionally and moderately physically abused as a child. There are times even now, 30 years after I moved out of my parents house, that I don’t think I’ll ever be right. Most people who were abused as children have similar feelings.
